Luggage Racks for the 650r

May 31st, 2006
Here is the completed project. It took about 2 hours to put in the racks and Givi adapters.

Did we mention the motorcycle? In an effort to morph it from toy to transportation, we’ve added luggage. The bags look very nice. Note that I’ve deliberately messed with the exposure on some of these photos. A black bike and bright sunlight are not a good combo.

This is the lower, rear mounting point. It was the hardest part to install. You have to remove the turn signals (notice the hole at the top of the image), and the license plate mount. I don't know how this kit would work with a fenderless bike. The bracket attaches between the plate holder and the fender. The turn signals are remounted on the bracket, so they are visible when bags are installed.

Riding Mt. Diablo with Friends

May 31st, 2006

We took a nice trip up Mt Diablo with some friends on Memorial Day Weekend. The weather was great and we used the opportunity to try taking photos while riding down the mountain, one hand on the bike, one hand on the camera. Don’t try this at home.

Of course we have photos in the full post.
