Race Across America 2009 in Photos

June 29th, 2009
  • A racer from another team rides into the sunrise in New Mexico.

We’ve just come back from working on the crew for a team in the Race Across America (RAAM). RAAM is a non-stop bicycle race from Oceanside, CA to Annapolis, MD.  We crewed for Team Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). This year, the team was made up of 8 tandems.  That’s 16 riders, with 5 support vans and 10 support crew.  This was easily the largest team ever assembled for RAAM.  Mananging the logistics of that many people was a challenge.

We started in Oceanside on 20 June at 2 PM. and finished in Annapolis in the early morning hours of 27 June. Total time of 6 Days, 10 Hours, 4 minutes.

Here are the photos.  A detailed write will be along shortly.
