Devil Mountin Double 2005

April 28th, 2005

:The Devil Mountain Double covers some of the most remote areas of the San Francisco Bay Area. This part of Livermore Valley, looking up to Morgan Territory, isn't very remote at all.

Each year, Quack Cyclists put on the Devil Mountain Double. DMD is the toughest double century ride in California. 208 miles actual distance, with 20,000 feet of climbing make this a brutal one day ride. We don’t ride it. :) Instead, we volunteer at rest stops to support the riders. This year Veronica rode the 50 mile Top Hat Classic on the same day. Top Hat is a fund raiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. With the help of friends and family, Veronica raised over $1,000. While she was riding, Thom worked at one rest stop for DMD. After Veronica’s ride, we drove 50 miles and manned another rest stop. It made for a very long day, but we pulled off some nice photos.
