TandemHearts

This past weekend, Rivendell Bike Works hosted their third, not quite annual, gathering for owners and enthusiasts. We met on Saturday morning at RBW World Headquarters for some snacks and socializing. The highlight for me was being introduced to the delicacy known as “breakfast pizza”. I never heard of such a thing in the past, but I’m a convert. Gone are the days of left over, cold pizza for breakfast. Now I’m on a quest for pizza meant to be “the most important meal of the day”.

After we fueled up, there was a pleasant group ride up Mt. Diablo to the group campground. The Riv crew had some trails picked out for those with wider tires, but we stayed on the pavement for this trip. The afternoon was spent socializing, with a few non-locals riding to the summit. Somebody probably should have mentioned to them that the early arrivals at camp get the best tent spots, but I wasn’t going to do it.

Entertainment included a hula hoop and a rope swing that Grant rigged. The first few people on the swing were all employees, but once they decided that they weren’t setting themselves up to be sued, the Riv crew let everyone else take a swing. We passed, but it did get me to thinking about a rope swing at home. I only need the trees to grow for another 10 years.
